Randomness...

We did a 5k last weekend that honored a local Police Officer who was shot a few weeks ago. Not something that happens in the burbs too often and to think of what his wife was going through with a little one and another baby one the way breaks my heart. Tyler and Zac joined us for this one and Dave pushed them in the double stroller. It was freezing and Zac slept the entire run while we entertained Tyler and bribed him with jumping in the bounce house at the finish if he just sat and didn’t whine. We crossed the finish line and there was freedom at last…bounce houses!

A tree fell on a power line in our backyard during the storm. Dave bought a chainsaw and he and Ryan cut down the tree. This may have taken at least 3 years off my life wondering if I’d be calling 911 to report two electrocuted men. Good thing it all worked out.

Tyler told the teachers aide in his room a few times that he "likes her boobies"...oye vey! Yep, you read that right. Honestly, I have no clue where he pulled that one from and you should've seen me trying to explain that one to him and why he can't say that. The boobie thing is just a phase I'm sure...this too shall pass...the story of my life. We had parent/teacher conferences tonight and I realize I never write about them even though we have them twice a year. His teacher told us he's a really smart dude. She also said he's doing very well and we're raising a good boy. Makes us happy and is good to hear.

And we voted as a family. We asked Tyler who he was voting for and he said "Santa". We vote at our fire hall and we got to check out the firetrucks, which made one little guy very happy.

And Zac is moving! Now that he moves the chase is on. It's adorable! Please excuse the almost naked boy, but Tyler is apparently in the clothing optional phase.

Zac is in to everything. And found the steps (the spilled laundry basket you see in the background is also a casualty of the little mover). And he eats lots of food, like real food. Anything he can get his hands on gets shoved in to his mouth. Toast with butter and jelly is his current favorite or fruit loops that he smuggles from his brother :)

A man at Lowe's told us Zac looks like the Gerber baby...I might just have to agree. This smile is going to melt my heart forever ♥

It snowed yesterday. Nothing huge but we had the first flakes of the season. When Tyler saw them he yelled “Let’s go skiing!” Good news for OCD Daddy. All signs are pointing in the right direction of getting this kid on the slopes this year.

Then this happened below. I came home with new snow boots and socks for Tyler. He wanted to try them on immediately, so he pulled his socks up as high as they can go, put snow boots on, add the hat he made at school and turkey baster and spatula in hand and he tested those boots out! First he tested the socks, then the sock/boot combo. He was running away so I wouldn't take his picture. Sometimes I think we're kind of normal...maybe I should rethink that.
