A birthday, some visitors and more pumpkins!

Last Thursday Dave turned the big 32! And last Thursday Ryan, Melissa and their son Luke came to visit for a few days! They’re friends from California and they were visiting the East Coast for the week and were nice enough to fit us in to their trip! We miss hanging out with Ryan and Melissa so much and have not seen them in 2 years (when we left them 2 years ago I was right around 20 weeks pregnant just like I am now - it probably seems as though I'm perpetually pregnant). It was so great getting to meet their little guy and to catch up with them. They came bearing a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for Dave (thanks guys...super yummy!) and we pretty much just hung out, walked around Chestnut Hill on a great Fall day, made a great Surf and Turf dinner requested by Dad for his birthday, let the little guys play in the yard and we introduced them to Polish horseshoes (and Melissa got to take back to CA her first Polish horseshoes victory – sorry Ryan!). We were also super excited that Tyler and Luke could play together, but it turns out our sweet little boy decided he wasn’t really up to sharing his toys - ugh! So they played and had some spats (which provided some giggles for the adults) and on the morning they were leaving Tyler finally decided that he’d warm up to sharing a bit and wanted to hold Luke’s hand and show him his toys…it was very cute. We had a great visit with them and we’re hoping that next year we can get out to CA to visit again!
