Randoms
Cuddles, carnivals...3 for 3 at popping balloons with a dart, hiking, ice cream, random phillies fan streaking through our house, new camel pack and lots of smiles...oh yeah and no more potty training...he's got it down (even the peeing in the woods part), this will get an entire post for itself one day!

Another round of school pictures
At the rate we're going, one of us is going to need an extra job just for the school picture fund. I can't pass them up though. And we officially have Zac's first school picture under our belt :)

3 months old, a little Tyler update, Memorial Day and Zac's first day of school
Phew! I survived my first week of getting 2 kids up and out the door in the morning. Overall, it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be and I've made it to work on time every day so far. To me, that's an accomplishment! Thankfully I have a flexible job and I don't have to stress too much if I'm late, but I like to keep my morning routine on schedule because the minute I slip from the routine, it all goes downhill from there.
Lots to update about, with very little time to do so. Zac turned 3 months old last Sunday. He's getting more and more lovable by the day. I could just eat him up! He's holding his head up pretty well these days which gives him a nice view of what's going on around him. I catch him watching Tyler a lot. And in the car the other day he was leaning up out of his seat and just staring at Tyler. He loves his big brother. He's also trying really hard to roll over from his tummy to his back, but his arm keeps getting in the way. Once he figures out how to prop himself on his arms and do a mini push up, he'll be rolling over immediately. He's determined. He's eating a little more now and eats about 7 oz. every 4 hours or so. He's also a really good sleeper and we've had a few nights where he's slept completely through the night. He goes to bed around 8:30-9 and sometimes sleeps until 6-6:30. Other nights he'll wake up once anywhere between 3:30-5 for a bottle and then goes right back to bed. Now, all Dave and I need to do is go to bed earlier. But, by time we get the kids to sleep and then get everything ready for the next day like bottles, lunches for all of us, clothes for the kids picked out, my clothes ready for the next day, clean up a little bit, then maybe fit in a run or swim, we then have very little time left for anything other than crashing at 11 at night. You should see the back up of shows on our DVR!
Zac is starting to be really smiley too. He loves the song Wheels on the Bus and gives me a nice loud laugh when I'm singing it (only time will tell if he's laughing at the song or my horrible singing voice). He's also ticklish on his legs and has the best little laugh when you tickle him. So cute! Little dude, you're awesome!
He had his first day of school on Tuesday and did great! And so did Mom :) They said he's a great baby, very calm and content and he's getting lots of cuddles by all the teachers. They're loving him up ♥ First day of school pictures below. And just one for the record, I included Tyler's first day of school picture as well.
On the Tyler front, he officially has all of his teeth. The last of his 2 year molars just poked through. He also gives the best "I love you's" when he's going to sleep. Of course we've always said love you to him, but it's so cool now that he says it back. And when I drop him off at school he yells "Love You" out the window and waits for me to beep at him. In his words exactly, "Mommy, two beeps and five beeps" and that's exactly what I do everyday. The day will come when he doesn't want a kiss or hug when I drop him off, so this morning when he wanted a fish kiss, eskimo kiss and butterfly kiss I soaked it up. Makes me happy. I always like to have time in the morning that I can spend a few minutes with them at school before running out the door. Of course there's some mornings where I'm rushing like crazy, but I like the extra time that's used for kisses, hugs, showing me things and now helping to go to the potty. Oh yeah and we had our first object up the nose incident. He stuck some type of little nut up his nose and we didn't know until he snotted it out a while later. You should have seen the look on mine and our neighbor Alyssa's face when it shot out of his nose. She has a one year old boy and I'm pretty sure it gave her a glimpse of what's to come. This toddler stuff is no joke people :)
Summer weather means ice cream time. Tyler loves to bite the bottom off his cone first, which means ice cream melting out of the cone everywhere. Guess who did this as a kid? Yeah...when they say things come back to bite you in the butt they weren't kidding. Now I know why my Mom only gave us vanilla ice cream when we were little...much less mess :)
The unidentified foreign object shot from the nose. I saved it to show Dave.
On to Memorial Day weekend. We went to a few cookouts, did some swimming and had a relaxing weekend. I got a new road bike and Amy took me on my first ride (about 27 miles) and taught this mountain biker road etiquette and much more about the world of road biking. I managed not to fall off my bike due to being clipped in to my pedals (big fear of mine) and that in itself was a success...thanks Amy! Dad and I got to dust off our old flip cup skills too. Juli, Karen and I whooped Dave, Ben and Ryan in a few games. Us girls can still flip a cup with the best of them! Here's picture overload of some bathing beauties...it was a super hot weekend with heat indexes near 100!

Not sure why, but Tyler never wants to keep his swim trunks on. But then asks to wear them to bed. So he sleeps in them :)

Our little Lion goes ROAR!!
Tyler had his Spring Show this past week. As I've mentioned before on here, he's never super excited about these shows and when the doors open to walk in the room he usually sees us and breaks down somewhat. He is super outgoing and friendly so we've always thought it was funny that he reacted the way he did. Once again, I went in to this being really nervous about how he'd do. His teacher told me he was really pumped up this year about playing the Lion. Even so, as he walked in I sort of hid and didn't let him see me and as he walked by he yelled "Hi Grammy" to my Mom and kept walking. Phew! I thought, this could be good. When he got up in front this time...he ROCKED it! Check it out. He's the Lion in the orange shirt and khaki shorts right in front. Hang tight, he's the 4th animal to go :) This Mom can't get enough of the little Lion. I'm in Love.
Next, it was time to sing with their Music teacher, Mr. Pete. They love him! And we had a happy dancer for sure! Funny story though...we were driving to school yesterday and the song "You shook me all night long" was on by AC/DC. Tyler said to me "This sounds like Mr. Pete!". Check it out and you be the judge of that ;)

Back to real life
Today is my last day of maternity leave. I've worn makeup 3 times since February 27th, I wear sneakers every day and yoga pants and my decisions revolve around which t-shirt I'm going to wear with said yoga pants. This is how I've chosen to live my past 3 months and it has been wonderful! I've cuddled the heck out of Zac, kissed those little cheeks until they were red, been thrown up on, peed on, pooped on (actually this one was compliments of baby Julian while watching him one morning. I'm hoping he'll be reading the blog book with my boys one day and get a kick out of that). Being the little brother, Zac has been on the move, we've run around chasing Tyler, sat in the clubhouse for hours fixing things, went on many walks with the baby brigade and soaked up the awesome weather that we've been having. I can only assume he's enjoyed his first few months in this family and house which I've come to describe very nicely as "organized chaos". But tomorrow, I will return to life as I know it. It's easier this time around. I'm not jumping into a new routine, I'm just sliding back to in the old routine. Zac and I have had so much fun this past 3 months and I won't lie that taking another 3 months off would be nice, but it would be delaying the inevitable. Zac will be with Grammy this week and then off to school starting next week. He's already met his teachers, the kids all know him and I'm at ease to know he'll be spoiled, cuddled and loved when he starts school. And before I know it he'll be running around with his friends, like Tyler, and telling me he's not ready to leave yet. So, for today I say Carpe Diem!
This month marks Dave and I being together for 15 years. Whoa! One day I'll write a post about how we met so the boys will always know our story. For now, here's some of our first pictures together as young-ins.
I also can't forget to mention that Dave and Ryan did the Broad Street Run, a ten miler, a few weeks ago and rocked it! They ran it in under an 8 minute mile. Awesome job guys!
Tyler's lastest interest includes worms and he loves going worm hunting. I knew this day would start where my little boy would try to start bringing creatures into the house and I like how we're easing in to this phase with worms. I can deal with that. He found one the other day and was playing with it and then he told Dave he was "making babies". Yes, one worm became five pieces of worm and that's how he was making babies. Guess we need to work on that.
We also had an intersting conversation the other day as we were driving home from school. Here's how it went.
Tyler - "Mommy, I have a boogie"
Me - "Ok, I'll help you get the boogie when we get home"
Tyler - "No, I'll wait for Daddy to get home. You need muscles to get it."
I've been meaning to write a blankie update for a while now, but forgot. Well...the things that made adults gag and kids run from it is now completely gone and out of the big guys mind. Blankie has been gone for about 2 months and Tyler never asks for it, but has formed a new attachment to another blanket, but he does not suck on this one. The new blanket is one that he used at nap time at school, so now we cart this blanket to and from school everyday so he can have it to sleep with at night too. He also likes to pile other blankets in his bed at night to sleep with. So be it. At least this one below is gone...gone meaning put in the keepsake box because I don't have the heart to throw it away :)
Yesterday, Tyler and Zac spent the day with Gram and Pop and Dave, Juli, Ryan and I headed to a Phillies game. The weather was awesome and it was nice to get out for a while, enjoy the warm, sunny weather and watch some baseball. It was a great afternoon off - thank guys!
