Dave just got back last night from a 10 day trip to Texas. The entire week before that he worked until 7 o'clock and before that he was in Vermont on a mountain biking trip for 4 days. So, since we got home from the shore at the beginning of September he's been on and off home. I always get anxious knowing he's going to leave knowing I'll be holding down the fort myself. You see, it's not that the kids are that bad or I can't handle them when I'm alone it's the being outnumbered thing that's really hard in my opinion. When I take one of them somewhere alone I'm always like "Gosh this is so easy, look how much I can get done!" It's all in perspective of course because when we only had one kid I thought that was hard too. Bottom line is that being a parent is hard.
So in the past week or so, we've had a fall down a few stairs, fingers being slammed under the toilet seat, kid launching from bed...followed by a large thump...then cry, head dive off a sliding board and "Oh look, he's running around on the kitchen counter!"...that was all gracefully done by our smallest monkey. Yeah, Zac is crazy and he rocks a mullet. He's badass :) My point is that's the kind of stuff that happens when you're outnumbered! You just can't be everywhere at all times unless you put them both on a leash (hummm...might be on to something here). I plan on doing a post soon on the Power of Two. But we do have lots of fun and the thumps and bumps are just the small things that happen in between the laughs, smiles and fun. Enjoy some pics from our latest adventures!
