Beach Vacation 2013

Ahhh...vacation in Sea Isle City ♥

We did lots of playing in the sand, running in the ocean, bashing waves, digging holes, crab catching, jelly fish hunting, ice cream eating, bike riding, and playing. It was a nice week off and was officially our first family vacation.

Although with any vacation, I wouldn't want to mislead as if there were unicorns jumping over rainbows all week.

Zac got an ear infection the Wed before we left. This along with 4 teeth coming in led him to be pretty cranky the first few days. His sleeping was off and Dave and I each had a morning to see the sun rise on the beach with him. Another family staying with us had a son who got hand, foot, mouth disease so they had to go home on Tues. The other kids in the house seemed to escape that thankfully. With two small kids, things can be chaotic especially when your not in your own home, but mid-week everyone got healthy and things seemed to calm down a bit. I finally got some time to enjoy to myself on Friday morning. Yoga on the beach with the girls, then breakfast planned afterwards. When I got done with yoga I had a text from Dave saying he had been sick all morning with a stomach bug and to come back as soon as I can. So, the boys and I had our last beach day on Friday while Dave slept all day long and we packed up and went home Friday night instead of Saturday morning.

With that said, it was a really good week though. The kids loved the ocean and the beach. They both have no fear when it comes to the water and had lots of fun. We took trips to the beach at night to hunt for crabs and touched jelly fish at night to watch them glow. Tyler's new word of the week was "bioluminescence". Oh, and the outdoor shower. I'm thinking of getting one of those at home because that could occupy them for a long time. They loved the outdoor shower. We had a really great time staying with Jill and the kids and the Dauksis family. We spent some nights on the patio in the warm ocean air playing pigs, had marathon uno games (I know we're pretty wild, huh!?) and got to relax a little.

We took Tyler to ride wave runners one day and he loved it. Dave took him our first and I wasn't sure what Tyler was going to think and when he came back smiling I was so happy! Then, I took him out for another trip and I was told "Mom, Dad goes much faster than you!". I was going about 22, when I asked Dave how fast he was going he said around 40 or so. Yes, that would be faster than the granny speed I had Tyler going at.

So here's some picture overload...
