Dog days of summer

Where do I start with our fun filled summer? Quick recap with lot of pictures to fill in the blanks!

Slip-n-slides, sleepovers, doggie buddies, introduction to Scooby-doo and Kiss movie (who would've thought!?), spotting a "been there whooped ass" shirt (where do I get me one of them?), Knoebels fun with old college roomies, Tyler's excitement to stand and get splashed by the Sploosh at Knoebels, sleeping in, playing at Grammy and Pops houses, dirt bikes, quads, meditating (he must have need to clear his mind?), beach trips, puppet shows at the library, first Thursday beer tasting and taco truck at Whole Foods with my usual date, Amy :), getting some work done outside in the beautiful weather, brothers playing, hitting the pool and hopping in on games of stick ball (it kills me that Zac follows Tyler around on the field my heart can't take it) and the older boys that let Tyler hop in and play give me a glimpse that there's still parents teaching their kids the right things. Doesn't hurt that he holds in own on the field tough ;), Phish show, Zac Brown Band with friends this weekend and Grammy's watching the boys so Dave and I can get out and have some fun, dinner with friends and the most recent purchase of a dirt bike that's all their own, and lastly my recent discovery after 2 years that I have emojis on my phone (I've been a cool kid all along and didn't even know!)

Tyler's last day of daycare is next week. I wrote the last daycare check for him last week. $600 more in our pockets every month even after we pay after care at school woohoo! We still have vacation for a week then one more week to enjoy before school starts. Good things are happening and we'll enjoy every last bit of summer we can!

Summer, Summer, Summertime

About 2 montsh ago Zac decided he was going to ride a big boy bike and just like that off he went! He's been riding the balance bike for about a year now and it completely taught him how to ride a bike. Amazing! The video below is from his first ride. Wait til the end for his "This is awesome!"

We have been in full swing this summer. There's been field trips, lots of swimming, a trip to Uncle Nic's cabin where we rode quads, swam in the pond, slept in a tent, the kids shot their first rifle a 22 (it was Dave's first rifle when he was a kid), Father's Day slip and slidin, a Dave Matthews concert with neighbors where we outside for 6 hours in terrential downpours but it was an absolute blast, my birthday celebration at Benihana and topped it with Uncle Paul and Aunt Gina's wedding this past Friday.

Tyler is completely floatie free at the pool now. He is starting to swim really well and just started swimming underwater too. They are having a blast at the pool. Money well spent for sure!

Preschool Graduation

By time we hit the end of summer Tyler will have capped over 5 years at Top of the Hill. It's hard to believe he's off to Kindergarten in the Fall. It's so cliche but it really seems like yesterday that I took him there for his first day when he was 8 months old. We're closing this first school phase and will begin a new one. His graduation was absolutely adorable. Ms. Jen does such a good job with them and after graduation it was off for a day at the Philly Zoo. You could tell by the end of the graduation pics that all these boys wanted to do was go to the zoo. They were over it!
