A 6 year old and Snowpocalypse!

Somehow we have a 6 year old!?!? That age seems legit. I plan to do an interview with him and post that here so for now we'll just go with some birthday pics, no party pics since it had to be moved to another weekend because of the snow we got and lots of pics of the most awesome storm we got this weekend.

I'd say we got 2 feet (or maybe a bit more)! We had an awesome weekend of snow and our neighborhood turns in to a big playground. People out playing, Dave and his new quad giving rides to everyone and just all over awesomeness.

Other things to note below...

Tyler's dream this year was much different than last years "I want for people to do good in the world", this year "I would want for my Mom and Dad to do whatever I say" haha

Birthday boy pictures, surprise ice cream and singing while out to eat, fun family party to see cousins that we haven't seen in years, Zac and his love for cleaning, the fact that Zac must 'toot' in most pictures you take of him, his love for hot dogs is still going strong, Dave finally getting his own quad I swear he's been talking about it since the day we met 18 years ago, clear blue skies the day after a snow storm...it really doesn't get much better than that, spending 9 straight hours outside playing in the snow on a gorgeous winter day...our kids inherited our love of snow thank goodness, also working hard to clear all the snow and shoveling rooftops, at least it comes with a view! And the fact that at some point last year Tyler decided he would try anything we give him to eat. He eats so much and so many different foods and one of his favorite meals is mushrooms, broccoli and chicken. My kid for sure! Zac on the other hand eat veggies and fruit and might end up being a vegetarian he's totally the opposite and won't try anything. I'm sure in time that will change though...keeping my fingers crossed.

And lastly, after 6 years I found my old ski passes in my jacket. I wear the jacket all the time in the snow and somehow just found them yesterday. It immediately took me back to our carefree days of waking up early, driving to Tahoe to ski all day with friends, having drinks on the mountain under blue skies...where our biggest worry was as Melissa put it - what time should we meet in the morning and what donut should pick at the gas station. She's so on point with that one!

Another year in the books

And just like that it's all over! It's like a whirlwind every year with the Holidays. Each year things get more exciting though. There was a lot of excitement this year over Christmas with the boys. Big requests this year were a robot and 10 nerf guns along with the statement from our eldest that "Santa might be a myth" what!? Quick diversion from that one...

Anyway, we had great, fun holidays and happy new year where we all rung it in together and some relaxing sleeping in (yes, we all sleep in together now! Took 6 years but we are there!)

Pictures, pictures and more pictures galore!

Christmas lights and a December sunset from our front porch...crazy weather!

The Heman wig that keeps us laughing well after Halloween!

A trip in to the city to see Book of Mormon along with a dinner out thanks to Grammy!

City lights

Mini golf in December with a car full of boys

This is why I love all of our neighbors. They don't judge when they see me driving my car down the street in the morning while my kids walk and carry breakfast and one wears a superhero mask. When they ask to walk to Ms. Katie's in the morning I let them be!

Tuesday night dinners at Magerk's with the Nelson crew. We've been doing this for over a year and a half now it's our almost mid-week night out!

Zac's winter program at school

I went in to Tyler's class to be a mystery reader then stayed to eat lunch with him. These kids make you feel like a celebrity everyone wants a picture and wants to talk your ear off. Seeing him in his school environment was really awesome!

5 batches of toffee this year

Tyler's card he made for Mrs. Hannahoe

Watching Home Alone with a buddy

My solo trip to Disney on Ice with these three kiddos who were absolutely wonderful and loved the show!

Christmas Eve dressed to impress with matching Highland Mountain Bike Park shirts

The best present Zac got get...his own wheelbarrow! The kid was in heaven and convinced Dave to go to the mulch pile the other day so he could spread some mulch in a bed in our yard...in January :)

Christmas morning and day. It was so warm the kids were out playing with shorts and no shoes - absolutely crazy!!

Bowling with Shannon and Raf!

Big ticket winner of the night!

We discovered a new trampoline place over the days we all had off. We went 2 days in a row and the blur is the boys jumping the loved it.

Tyler decided he'd play a prank on me and put a worm in my tea...I discovered it after drinking half of it. Worm tea for the win!

Buddies

My robe belt provides hours of fun for the boys...it's a lasso, a snake, they twist it, tie it to things and I never have a belt on my robe when I get out of the shower. On this particular night, they decided to tie themselves together and drag each other around the house, the fun just keeps getting better here. It was actually really funny watching them do this.

New Years Day isn't complete withour pork and sauerkraut yummy!

Riding dirt bikes with buddies in the yard

And after 500 takes I finally got a picture for the Christmas card - there were some threats involved but I got it!
