Yesterday the little bean and I had our first unplanned trip to the hospital.
I was at work yesterday morning and out of nowhere I started to have some bleeding. I called my doctor and they told me I needed to go to the the Triage at the hospital. So, in a state of panic, fear, and teary eyed mess I drove to the hospital. Once I got there and got settled the first thing they did was check the baby's heartbeat. It took the nurse what felt like 10 days to find the heartbeat and when she finally did it was like hearing your baby cry for the first time. The heartbeat was a strong 160, which made me feel so-o-o relieved. The Nurse Practitioner gave me an exam and determined that the bleeding was coming from the outside of my cervix and had nothing to do with the baby. Everything having to do with the baby looked perfect. She said it was fragile cells on the cervix/a friable cervix and she sees about one person a week with this. She said we'd also do an ultrasound just to get a peek at the baby and I'm RH negative so they ordered me some Rhogam just as a precaution. She did the ultrasound and I got to watch our bean flip flop all over and by the looks of it he/she is following in their brothers footsteps because this kid is active! The Nurse practitioner and all the nurses were so awesome and they reassured me everything was great and she didn't think this should happen again.
Once all that was done I got to watch some TV and take a little snooze while I waited for the Rhogam to come. They have to spin/make it for you when you get it so it took a while. As I waited, I listened to some women who were in labor, had some flashbacks about being in labor, thought about the fact that I'll be in labor again in a few months and thanked God that I was walking out of the hospital with a healthy baby in my belly ♥

Week in Review
Last week, Tyler's report sheet from school said that every time his teacher looked at him he was eating dirt and mud. The next day, it said "p.s. I like to eat rocks". All of this we already knew we just try to limit his mud/dirt/rock eating to be at home and not in public :) Today, his sheet said they took field trips to the bathroom...this could be the beginning of a good thing. If we could avoid having 2 kids in diapers that would be awesome...wishful thinking perhaps :)
On Friday, I got a call that Tyler had some belly problems and a bad diaper rash. So Tyler and I got to spend a well-deserved rainy Friday afternoon off watching Elmo and playing. By Saturday, he was back in mint condition.
I got to sleep in until 8am Saturday morning. I came down the stairs to find Tyler standing on the coffee table jumping on to the big recliner. This is what happens when Mom sleeps in. EVERY time I do, Dad teaches him a new "trick". Dave says he did this one on his own without being taught. I think he does it so I don't want to sleep in anymore. The kid is adventurous. It's like he doesn't have a fear in the world when it comes to certain things like jumping off stuff, flying down slides, jumping in to the pool, or flying down the stairs in the laundry basket. Dave and Pop pledged the slide this weekend because apparently a slow slide isn't any fun so why not bring out the furniture polish - right?? Life will just keep getting more interesting...I'm sure of it. Mom - I'm sorry for my adventurous ways :)
We were in Pep Boys the other day and Dave was talking to the person at the counter. Tyler was yelling "Dad" and after about 10 yells Dave didn't respond so he started yelling "Dave"!
On Saturday morning we had all intentions of getting Tyler's hair cut. We talked about it all week, but when Saturday morning came we broke down and decided that we didn't want it cut. You wouldn't think that getting a kids hair cut required this much thought, but it took so long for him to actually get hair we just couldn't do it yet. I like the messy look he has going on and it's possible that in time he'll have a nice mullet (or look like Justin Beiber), but for now, the hair cut is going to have to wait.
This morning, as Tyler walked down the stairs he counted from 2-9 all by himself. No prompting, just counting the stairs as he walked. I'm not sure where 1 and 10 went, but this was the first time he counted past 3 on his own and it was one of those moments that I just stood back and watched him and couldn't believe how my baby is growing up.

Catching up with some randomness...
Up until about a week ago, men have been the only ones to actually ask if I was pregnant. I think women didn't know if I was pregnant or just ate too many cheesesteaks.
Answers to some things that everyone has been asking us...
Yep, we're going to find out what we're having (remember? I don't like surprises). Our 20 week appointment is Oct. 14. And yes, we will tell people once we find out :)
Nope, we don't have a preference. All we want is a healthy baby!
We have a girl name picked out and have had one for years. For boys, we have a few we like, but need to keep on looking. Once we find out what we're having we'll also let you all in on the baby name too :)
When we ask Tyler if he's having a brother or sister, he always says brother. But, when we ask if it's a boy or a girl. He usually says girl.
I didn't really make a prediction with Tyler as to what I thought I was having. For this one, the only thing I can go by is how I feel and how my belly is growing and if that's the case, then I'd say boy.
Every since I found out I was pregnant I have this horrible fear of my water breaking at work. If I didn't work at home when I was pregnant with Tyler, my water would've broken at work - oye vey...pray for me :)
My cravings so far have been cotton candy and Caesar salad (which I ate all the time with Tyler) other than that I want to drink gatorade alot!
With Tyler, I was pregnant with Kourtney Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson. This time, 3 of my friends are pregnant and due in the same week! Much better! Oh yeah and Beyonce has decided to join the 4 of us in this journey too :)
On to the big guy...
The other morning as I was getting out of the shower Tyler was yelling for me to come get him out of his crib. I yelled to him and said I'll be there in a minute and he responded with "Run, Run!"
The next morning, when I went in to get him I said Good morning and he told me "Poop!" - nice morning greeting.
We were in the car the other day and he wanted to hand me something, I reached my hand back to get it and he handed me a booger!
He's getting really good at saying Please and Thank You. At his 18 month appt. he thanked the nurse for measuring his head. He sometimes needs a little prompting for Please, but usually says Thanks on his own.
My new favorite thing that he says is "There it is!"
He went pee on the potty the other night! First, he started going in the hallway (something he seems to like to try and do when he's naked after the bath) and when we said to go to the potty he hopped on and went!
He picked up the word mean somewhere, so when you tell him he can't do something or do something he doesn't like, he tells you you're mean - ugh!
His last 4 teeth (the eye teeth) are coming in all at once at the moment. He's always been pretty good with teething, but now I know their hurting him because he tells us when his teeth hurt :(
So much for me not liking to count Tyler's age in months, check out these emails I get. Really...86 weeks old?
Dave ran in the Spartan Race last weekend. Looked pretty brutal. 2.5 miles running straight up a ski slope, add in another 2.5 miles and some pretty crazy obstacles and my view from the ski lift as I brew the next little spartan was very nice. It was Tyler's first ride on a ski lift and he loved it! My sister also ran it and we're going to run it together next July to kick my butt back in to things :)
Donating shoes to charity :)
And this past weekend, I went to see Alex perform in her first national gymnastics day - she did so awesome!
This is serious business...I'm not sure what she was channeling here...
We went to Community day in our town and got to play in a real fire truck - huge hit!
Our family picture for the family tree at school :)
Lastly, Dave and I entered this century and both got smart phones this past week. So, if I've called you 10 times in one day and then hung up it's because I'm still trying to figure out how to use the stinking phone. Or if you texted me and I never responded it's because my phone died twice last week, which prompted us to bite the bullet and upgrade :)

Flooding
Last week we had more record rain and by the end of the week it brought with it some devastating flooding to many areas in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. The worst flood we had was in 1972 when hurricane Agnes flooded many areas. Growing up in Mocanaqua (living along the Susquehanna River), we knew who Agnes was and people referred to her as if she was a resident. It was the worst flood the area ever saw and people still refer to things as "Was that before or after the flood". It was the worst flood until last week. These pictures speak for themselves as to the damage that was done in Mocanaqua. Looking at them makes me feel guilty for worrying about a little water that seeps in to our laundry room. There's a house only a few miles down the street from us that has everything on their lawn because it's ruined. In some other places, you could barely see the roof of a house sticking out of the water.
We are SO thankful that all of our family and friends affected are safe - that is the most important part as houses can be rebuilt. So we pray that everyone whot got flooded is able to get back in their houses, figure out a plan for clean up and have the strength to make it through this difficult time.
This is my Grandparents house. Even though we sold it a few years ago, it will always be their house in my mind. :(
One of my relatives houses.

Labor Day Weekend
We spent our labor day weekend having cookouts with our families (which turned out to be cook-ins because of rain), we went to Mocanaqua for our church picnic and ate some yummy homemade Polish food and we relaxed!
We fit in a few polkas...
We ate pierogies, potato pancakes, halushki, funnel cakes and piggies while Tyler opted for the hoagie bun :)
Jill and I were Polish dancers and Alex likes to wear her dress from when we were little. She also got to dance with Malvina who is the lady who made this dress years ago! Malvina was the only seamstress in town and she's probably 85 or so now and still looks the same as she did when she hemmed my Kindergarten uniform!
We took Tyler to the Dairy Queen where Dave and I sat on our first date for hours and then got in trouble because we both got home very late on a school night! We tried to tell him that because of this place he's here today, but all he wanted to do was run around ;)
Our playboy did some relaxing too...
I got in some cuddle time with my friend Maggie's little girl Olivia! I can't wait for the newborn cuddles with our next little bean!
Aunt Kris got Tyler a "Tyler size" Spiderman! He loves it!
We finished off our weekend with our first official goose egg where head met chair :( At least we were at Gram's house and she's a retired nurse so she took great care of her little guy :)
