Happy Thanksgiving (a few days late)! Over the past few days we've done lots of turkey eating, hanging out and enjoying our days off. For thanksgiving it snowed a little and we had a dusting on the ground, which made it feel like the holidays have arrived - yippee! We are very thankful for our wonderful family, great friends and for our precious little guy who over the past week has turned in to a walking machine! Tyler's first Thanksgiving meal was a hit and he housed anything and everything that we put in front of him. This kid can eat, but we're still not sure where he puts it all!
Saving some ravioli for later. There's always food somewhere on Tyler's face, but this ravioli was stuck on his forehead the entire time he ate dinner :)
Playing some Dance Dance Revolution
Alex proudly showing the turkey napkin holders they made :)
Giving Uncle Dave has a workout before dinner
Our feast!
We put one of these on the xmas list he was loving the little car - just not the pink one :)
Already loving ice pops!
After a bite of ice pop he would walk over to his other Aunt and get a bite of cookie. He must have done 10 cookie/ice pop laps it was hysterical!

Football and the tadpole
This past weekend my Mom watched Tyler for us (thanks Mom!) and Dave and I went down to DC with some friends for the PSU-Indiana game. They played at the Redskins stadium and it was a great game with beautiful weather! These weekends take us a lot longer to recover from than they use to. It's been a while since I enjoyed a beer at 8am :)
Firing up the grill for breakfast and getting the tailgate started!
5pm - firing up the grill for dinner and still going strong :)
When we got home today we decided to go to the Y for our first dip in the pool! Between the fountains, water slides and lots of screaming kids Tyler was a little hesitant at first to explore the water, but after a few minutes he got in to the swing of things and had a fun time. Can't wait until he can start to really enjoy all of this stuff! This certainly is not the same as the Y's that Dave and I use to go to. :)

Steps, turkey and the gym!
Last night Tyler took his first steps! He's still unsure about what the heck is going on when he actually does it, but by tonight he was taking about 4 steps before he had enough and dropped to crawling! Oh boy...on to the next new set of adventures!!
Today we had a Thanksgiving feast at Tyler's school. Each class made a part of the meal and we all had a big ole' Thanksgiving lunch together. Tyler's class was in charge of the cranberry sauce and He and all his friends did a good job of eating it up :) The older classes visit a Senior Care home once a month and the people from the home came to eat lunch at the school today. It was really sweet and they enjoyed being out and about and being around the kids.
This is the newest member of the YMCA checking out his ID card. He's following in his Dad's footsteps being a Y kid - swim class starts in January and of course Dave has already asked about the soccer team. Gotta wait until he's 2 for that one :)

The Big Ten!
Tyler turned 10 months yesterday and his motto seems to be...If it can be pushed, I will push it! He's pretty busy these days pushing anything that can be moved around the house. He has quite a sophisticated palette (ha ha!) with pierogi (he puts 3 away in one meal), spaghetti and yogurt being up there on the top of the list, but he still likes pretty much anything we give him (with the exception of peaches can't even trick him in to eating them!) We were at Sam's Club yesterday and it took us forever to get through the store because we stopped and he sampled the food at every stand. It was pretty fun to let him try all kinds of food, but I started to have the feeling that my baby isn't going to be a baby for that much longer.
We had what I think might be our last nice weather weekend until Spring. Or at least that's what my meteorological sense tells me we've been really lucky with beautiful weather! Temps were in the 60's and we soaked up every last moment of sun. We went for bike ride to the park, fed the ducks cheerios, played in the yard and finished up with dinner at the neighbors house with ribs and wings made in a smoker! Yummy meal with some great neighbors!
Patio furniture is put away, leaves are all raked and the chimney was just cleaned so we're ready and waiting for old man winter! Bring it on...I'm ready to get back on my skis I'm getting really anxious :)
Accessorized...new horn and bike helmet
The shirt Dad brought him back when he skiing in Utah this past winter - even Tyler is ready for the snow :)

Gifts!
Thanks to our friends Ryan and Amy Tyler is all geared up for hockey season. Before donning his new gear he had to make a pledge to not like any team other than the Flyers...for the rest of his life. Tyler gave them a few da-das and ba-bas (heaven forbid he say Mama more than once a week ha ha) and they took that as his word :) Ryan was jealous that his Jeep and wife made it on the blog before he did so we had a photo shoot and Ryan can now make his blog debut!
Tyler isn't the only one getting gifts. Last week they brought us over some Snuggies (now I can check Snuggie off my "dreams" list as fullfilled) and it's just in time for the cold weather! Thanks for all the presents Ryan and Amy! We love them you guys rock!
Peacefully sleeping while we all finished dinner last night. Not quite use to the time change yet, but at least he has his mornings figured out!
Testing out a new toy by sitting in it (by the end of the night we give up on the fight of putting pants back on)
Climbing to get to the real remote

The joys of parenthood!
** Disclaimer: If you do not want to read about baby poop skip this post :) **
I usually try to keep things semi-short on here, but I have to document this because these posts go in to Tyler’s baby book and this one is a keeper.
Like any other morning as soon as I go to put Tyler’s coat on about 30 seconds before we need to walk out the door he crawls away from me thinking I’m playing and chasing him and then I catch him and realize he’s pooped. Well…this morning I ran out of wipes during this diaper change and had to run to his room to get more. I cleaned him up with the one wipe I had left and gave him the decoy remote to keep himself occupied for the .2 seconds I’d be gone to run upstairs (see Exhibit A for decoy remote picture – probably not what parenting 101 teaches, but it works for us he’s taking the bait so far.) I left him 1/2 in his birthday suit to catch a little breeze and came back to find him covered in poop and having some fun. Guess he wasn’t done going to the bathroom and I think he’ll be good at sliding if he ever plays baseball. Thank goodness for hardwood floors!
After I got over my panic attack I stripped him down, threw out his socks (there was no hope), threw dirty clothes in basement for later and off to the bathtub we go. Phew! Clean kid, now just clean the floor right? Wrong! There was a lingering scent and thank goodness I looked in the mirror to remove the remnants I found behind my ear because I found some leftovers in my ponytail too. Ugh - now, it’s Mom’s turn to take her 2nd shower of the morning and find something to do with previously mentioned kid. So I hop in the shower while Tyler unrolls the entire roll of toilet paper, taking a few bites of it a long the way and he's loving every minute of it! This is typically a 'No, and remove from the situation thing', but it was either let him unroll his heart out or go to work with poop in my hair – he knew this was a treat! Finally, now we’re both in new outfits, squeaky clean again, clean up floor and we walk out the door an hour late with cold coffee. To stay on the positive side of things I forgot I had my car warming up so we got in to a really warm car that had been on for an hour and I didn’t have to do any frost scraping on my windows :)
Tyler – when you’re reading this years from now this was a rookie Mommy mistake! I hope you always continue to help keep it real around this place buddy!
