I blinked and my babies grew up
It's happening...I know they're not old like trying to leave my house but they are growing up.
Over the past two weeks Zac has decided to potty train himself. We never pushed the potty with him knowing that it'll come when it's meant to be and he completely surprised us by deciding now was the time. We mentioned to daycare that he was starting to like to sit on the potty in case he showed interest during the day when he was there. After a few days they had him going on the potty full time at school. We continued that at home and he's no longer in diapers. It was pretty amazing that he just caught on and was done with it. It really helps that big brother is an influence on everything he does too. We had one accident at home and one on dad's lap at the monster truck show (hysterical!) and that was it. The monster truck show was pretty much our fault so I can't blame him for it. He wakes up at night to go potty and is dry in the morning. This really can't be but I think it is. No more diapers in our house. On top of that, we took down his crib this past weekend and gave him Tyler's double bed. Tyler got a new queen bed that can also double as a bed for guests. Zac made the transition no problem. Unlike Tyler who slept behind the door on the floor for a month, he went to sleep no problem and he's also about 6 months or so older than T was when we did the bed switch. That's it. Dave and I are still getting over the fact that we went from diapers and cribs to underwear and a bed in one week. I'm getting over the fact that there will be no more DePolo babies in this house (unless God decides to throw us a monkey wrench at some point) but also can't get over the fact that my babies are growing up and things are a lot of fun around here.
My big baby is also getting so big. He seems older in the way he talks to us, understands things that you might need to be a little older to understand and helps me out with his brother in the morning when he knows Zac is being a bear. Yesterday, I had umbilical hernia surgery and nurse Tyler took care of me like you wouldn't believe. Tyler was home sick for 2 days so Gram came to help out and she had to take Zac to school and I found myself saying don't worry Tyler will show you how to get there and knows what to do to drop him off. When I got home from the surgery Tyler made me a bed, got me water and responded to the fake bell that I rang when I needed something. He really is a sweet kid.
We headed to monster trucks again this year and they loved it. Zac was totally in to it too and they sat the entire time watching the cool trucks. Gosh I love these boys! ♥
