Christmas Day!

Our Christmas Day was really relaxing this year. I took lots of pictures while the kids opened presents, but after that the camera got put down and I enjoyed the day. Gram, Pop and Aunt Jill came down and we had a nice dinner and a great day together.

When Tyler woke up I'm not sure if he remembered that Santa was coming, but as soon as we reminded him, there wasn't even time to put PJ's back on after going potty. It was off to check out the presents! Tyler had fun opening his presents, and Zac's presents and Dave and I's presents :) And Zac was really in to my coffee cup. That is until Lol Elmo was opened and he thought Elmo was really funny. Note the Yoda stocking in the picture. Tyler picked out that stocking especially for his brother. Not exactly what I had in mind for Zac's first stocking, but sometimes you just have to let go and go with it :)

Christmas Eve

The night before Christmas Eve, we had a sleepover at Grammy's house with three kiddos snuggled in to bed. They woke up and started making cookies with Grammy so santa had some yummies for his tummy when he came. Then, we had Wigilia at grammy's house, Zac had his first taste of oplatki, the kids opened all lots of presents, we found a random note written to Santa, and Pop showed the kids some coal just to give them an idea of what they'd get if they were bad. Always good to put things in perspective :)

Then, we headed home to get ready for Santa's arrival. As soon as we pulled in the driveway and put one foot out of the car, there was a big boom and the sky lit up, then the neighborhood went black. A second later power came back, only to have another boom and go right back off again. So, we spent our Christmas Even from 7-10pm sitting around waiting for power to come back so we can prepare everything we needed for Santa. When it finally came back on we were able get everything together, Tyler told us what he wanted to write to Santa (and he wrote his own "T" on the paper!), then he finally got to bed around 10:30. The only benefit to this was that everyone slept in until 8 on Christmas morning, that in itself is a gift if you ask me :)

Relaxing in the dark!
