Zac - 7 months

Right before we put Zac to bed tonight he was laying on the floor and rolled over, looked at Dave and said "Dada". We have our first official word! He's getting closer to crawling...he rolls all over, goes in circles and goes backwards to get where he needs to go. Zac has pretty much has always been a good sleeper (other than that small kink we hit where I thought we'd have to do boot camp, but he worked it out on his own) but over the past week he's been sleeping around 11 or 12 hours straight!
Funny thing is he really likes blankie like Tyler did except he doesn't suck on it (thank God!). Same blankie because we had 2 extras from when we bought them in bulk. He's growing like a weed and his gummy smiles can light up a room. I also think his first tooth is on it's way here, but I think it's going to be a little while before it pokes through. Here's some pics from today's 7 month photo shoot, which involved a dunkin donuts picnic in the yard. I can't think of anything else better to celebrate with than donuts. Yum!

I'm pretty sure Zac was thinking "Stop waving that donut in front of my face and give me some more!"

Oh they just keep gettting cuter and cuter...

If he's not a skier, maybe he'll be a rockstar :)

Zac turned 7 months the other day! He's interacting with us so much. Here's some peek-a-boo for you!

Halfin it and some randoms

Let's start with a recent conversation...

Dave: Tyler has been picking his nose and trying to eat his boogers a lot lately. I keep catching him doing it.
Me: Dave, he's two. I think that's what a lot of two year olds do.
Dave: They say geniuses pick their noses and eat it. I think that's what Einstein did.

Good news is we apparently have a genius on our hands!

I was talking to Zac tonight and saying some words to him and I said "Dada" and he immediately said "Dada" back to me...oh my is this kid precious!

Jill and I ran our first half marathon last weekend! We crossed the finish line feeling pretty good for just running 13 miles and it was awesome to run it with my sister! We're thinking of making it a yearly thing. We really don't have any pictures because it was just the two of us that went. Dave was in Vermont that weekend for an overnight bike race. He did a race that went from 6pm until 6am and they had a team of four people that took turns doing laps on a mountain bike course for 12 hours. I guess when they were done they had to shoot paint balls and they didn't win the race, but they did win the paint ball shooting part. All that target practice with his Dad pays off I guess :) Next year we're hoping we can all get to Vermont for the race it's one of our favorite places!

We bought ourselves new head bands for the race. Here's the only pics we managed to take.

I snagged these from the photo site. I need to grab a few of Jill tomorrow to put up here.

On to some randomness...

We had a really rainy night last week so we headed to the mall to get all of us some new sneaks. Our mall has a play area for kids and a merry-go-round. Tyler loves the play area, but never ends up riding the merry-go-round. He gets on it and before it starts usually wants to get off. This night we ran in to his friend Julian from school and guess who happily went on the merry-go-round with his friend? Yeah, I was having a moment :)

And pushing his brother around for us, he actually did a really good job!

The first piece of Tyler's artwork hung in my cube. When my Mom retired in 2010 she brought home a paper bag frog that I made in 4th grade. She had it displaying in her office for that many years!

The weather is much cooler, which means Dad has one thing on his mind...he's beginning the "Great ski attempt of 2012" with Tyler pretty early this year. He's making progress. Tyler actually put the skis on and did some tricks for us.

Please bow your head...Sweet Baby Jesus, please let our kids like skiing and let Tyler get on his skis this year else I'm going to have to hear about this for the rest of my life. Amen.

We're getting our house blessed in a few weeks, I might ask the priest for a special blessing for these darn skis!

Labor Day and more

Keep sending me your emails if you want to be added to the blog list once I set it to private. It's still going to be a while until I get everyone's emails in.

Let's start out with some recent quotes from Tyler that can't go undocumented...

While playing with the kitchen set at school one day, Tyler handed a brown bottle to his teacher and said “Ms. Kristen will you hold my beer?” Oye!

Tyler got the flu shot the other day, but he got the nasal spray one. He did so awesome and listened to every word the nurse said about what he was supposed to do. When we were walking out of the room he said to the nurse “Thank you for squirting the water up my nose”…”Maybe next time I come back we can do that again”. The nurse just sat there and stared at him laughing and said she never got that kind of response from one of the kids before ha ha.

On to Labor Day pics...every year I write the same thing. I LOVE Fall! You can tell it's just around the corner. Morning and nights are chilly, temps during the day are perfect, football season has started and we had our annual church picnic, which to me has always signaled the end of Summer...except now I don't get the pit in my stomach about having to go back to school. Picture overload about to begin...

Jill and I asked Charlie to take a picture of us with her phone...this is the first picture he took. He was having a little trouble figuring out how to take the picture ;)

His 2nd attempt was a success though :)

Grammy letting Zac have his first taste of funnel cake

And funnel cake, potato pancakes, beer, playing the money wheel, polka music...life is good :)

Our sweet sweet boy

And Tyler played on the dance floor with some other kids. Exactly what we used to do when we were little :)

Kyle and Adam both started playing football this year, so we went to watch the dudes play!

Tyler is so patient with his brother. Zac is constantly trying to grab Tyler or grab anything that Tyler has. He's even willing to share his ice pops...

Comparing shoe sizes with Adam

The four grandsons...Dave's parents have 3 girls and Dave, so God probably thought they needed a few more boys in their lives (and there's not really a chance that Kris or I are willing to try to give them a grandaughter ha ha) Enjoy your boys Pop and Gram :)

And one last beach trip for the summer...this is the first time Zac really played in the sand and went in the water. He ate a lot of sand and was covered head to toe in it, but in true Zac fashion he didn't seem to mind one bit.

And this is what happens after a long, fun weekend...

And this dude was on his third slice of pizza...
