For the love of Buzz...

Lots of updates coming soon, but until then I leave you with a glimpse of a little guy and his love for all things Buzz Lightyear. He's always helping to protect Buzz from Zurg :)

Sneak Peek

Monday night we got a 3d ultrasound done. It was really cool to see our little guy and it's amazing how much he looks like Tyler. I think it's pretty safe to say I might just be the hotel again with this one. As soon as the ultrasound tech saw little Zachary, she said he looks just like Tyler, who in turn looks just like Dad. These pictures aren't as clear as the ones we had Tyler, but you can definitely see the resemblance :)

Zachary - 29 weeks

Tyler 28 - weeks

A play date and a party

Play date with school buddies, visits with both sets of Grandparents and Mom and Dad got to go out Saturday night to an ugly sweater Xmas party while Grammy and Pop-Pop partied with Tyler at home. It was a great weekend!

Tyler and Wyatt had us laughing...these two are best buddies!

My ugly shirt makes me look like I'm going to give birth to quadruplets tomorrow. I wasn't really festive this year because I didn't have much time to look for something to wear so I just went with the "Snow in Love" shirt. I had a nice white fleece to wear that had deer looking at a tree on it, but since my body temperature is at a consistent 900 degrees I had to shed it.

So the guys kindly tried to cover my belly in the picture so I wouldn't feel like I ate a house.

Then I get to stand next to Amy who is due the day after me. Yes, her belly is smaller than mine, but the sweatshirt also masked her bump in this picture. I will borrow that sweatshirt for sure if I'm ever pregnant again for one of their Ugly sweater parties. Oh, and twice that night someone said to me "weren't you pregnant at the last party". It was really 2 years ago and since I only stopped by quickly to last years party these people just think I'm perpetually pregnant.

This one's for you Zac. Being the 2nd child, when I'd ask your grammy for a picture of me she'd say "Oh, there you are, you were in my belly here". Not sure if there's actually a real picture of me to be found ;) So here you are my 2nd child, you got to go to the party with us :)

Winter Show

After the Thanksgiving show and yesterday's Winter show, it's apparent Tyler's not going to be leaving us for Hollywood one day. Performing isn't his favorite thing to do at the moment. His teacher said from when I dropped him off yesterday until the show began, he was having an "everything needs to be on his own terms" morning. Doesn't happen very often, but of course it happened yesterday. This lead to him not wanting to even enter the room full of people and certainly not stand in front of them wearing a winter hat and gloves while waving a sign that said Let It Snow. Thank goodness all his class does is stand up there for a few seconds. So, he did a little squirming and whimpered on stage while his other classmates kind of stared in to space and were in a daze. It's funny watching the whole thing unfold. It's always quite a show watching what the toddler class will do. After the show his teacher said he was a really good boy the rest of the day :)

So, we have hope for the future that he'll stand up there and perform, but for now he'd rather stand on Dad's lap, happy as can be (and super cute might I add) and watch the older grades peform. Afterwards Santa came for a visit. We weren't about to attempt to make him sit on Santa's lap with how the morning was going and he told me he didn't want to anyway. So, we approached the big guy with ease, Tyler gave him a high five, took his present (a Dragon pillow pet!), told Santa he wants "a bus and eyeballs" for Xmas, said thank you and walked away. Good enough for me kid.

28 week bump watch

The third trimester is here! I can't believe we have 12ish weeks to go until our little bean is here! I feel really good and have a surprising amount of energy that gets me through the day until about 9 or 10 each night and then it's crash time! No triage visits lately and I'm hoping next time I see my good friends there I'll be in labor. I started prenatal yoga with my friend Amy (she's due the day after me) and although we only had one class so far I'm really liking it. I've never done yoga before since it always seemed a bit too calm for how I like to work out, but I must say it's great for a 28 week pregger and it was challenging. My belly feels like it has actually slowed down after what felt like months of rapid growth and I don't feel like I'm having twins anymore. I know the energy will disappear again in the coming weeks and there may be some aches and pains that start to pop up so I'm enjoying feeling great right now.

We started clearing stuff out of Zac's room and have half the room painted and just decided on the other color so we're hoping to get that done this weekend. We went a little crazy with paint samples, but couldn't make up our minds on the color. After the holidays, we'll hit up the attic to start bringing down and sorting through all the baby stuff and we'll get Tyler adjusted in his new and improved big boy room. With Tyler we had everything so organized, planned and in place well before he was born. We had lots of time to do everything we needed. Since round 2 comes with no time and an energetic toddler, I feel like we might be pushing to get things done until the last few days with this one. Funny to see how differently things happen with the second child.

Fa la la la la

I love decorating for Christmas. I love the sparkly lights and the bright tree at night in our living room. I like watching Dave go up on the roof obsessing about and trying to figure out how he set up/connected the lights last year, waiting for him to bang on the roof to let me know I need to come outside for something. I love watching Tyler get in to the excitement of helping us and he was in full swing this year. He insisted on getting up on the roof with Dad, but I only let him get as far as climbing the ladder, and he strategically help us put eyeballs (have no idea where he came up with that) on the tree, being very careful not to break any (boy what a difference a year makes!). We didn't know what to expect with an almost 2 year old and a Christmas tree, but he's been great and spends most of his time around the tree counting ornaments! Elf on the Shelf made his appearance tonight and I'm sure you can guess the name Tyler gave him...Pee Pee. Dave wanted to name the elf Snoop, but he lost the battle and Pee Pee is now out and ready to watch over us until Xmas! Now we get to sit back, relax and enjoy the season!

Showing off the muscles in front of the tree :)

And our stockings are zip tied to the stairs with care...

The little bean gets a name!

So I think we've finally decided on a name for the bean! If we were having a girl, her name would have been Morgan Ann and that was pretty much settled. But, once we found out it was another boy, we were back to the drawing board of names. Here's a few that we considered - Dylan (this was Dave's pick for a while), Nicholas, and Dominick. Tyler has also come up with some names on his own. It's fun to ask him what we should name his baby brother and here's what Tyler's picks were. All of these are straight from his mouth and were considered equally when picking a name ha ha - Woody Cheese Pee, Pee Pod, Tyler and Pee Pee...do you see a theme here? He's started sitting on the potty lately and I think this is where his creativeness is coming from. I ask him all the time about names and for the past month he's consistently answered with "Pee Pee". When people ask him what the baby's name is he says "Pee Pee". So, in all seriousness, Tyler may be calling his little brother Pee Pee, while the rest of the world calls him Zachary Scott. Out of all the names we kept saying we just kept going back to that one and we like the name Zac, so when people start shortening his name we'll still like it. We considered the same thing when we named Tyler because you know it's inevitable that people will shorten the name and we both love the name Ty, so it worked. And Ty is what Tyler calls himself!

Zachary even has his first poster to hang on the wall in his room courtesy of Uncle Ryan - thanks uncle Ry! When Ryan got Tyler his poster he also got one for Zac just in case that was the name we picked. So, here you go Zac, your first skiing poster signed by a professional skier. Happy Landings Dude - we can't wait to meet you!

Thanksgiving

Our bellies are still full. We had a total of 4 thanksgiving dinners this year. One at Tyler's school, I had one at work, we had Thanksgiving day at our house and then one more dinner Saturday night at Gram and Pop DePolo's house. I was talking to Dave about how a few years ago it was just the two of us eating our turkey dinner in California alone. Not that it wasn't a good year because I was still spending it with Dave, but the fact that we can have our family and friends over at at our house for a holiday dinner is awesome to me. It was the first one we've had and I can't wait to have many more!

Other than eating, we unexpectedly had to take Tyler to the doctor Wednesday night because of a bad cough. They ended up giving him albulterol breathing treatments and he was such a champ with it. Thanksgiving morning, Dave, Aunt Jill and Uncle Kevin ran in a 5k and the kids and I were supposed to do a 2 miler, but I decided to stay home with the kids so we didn't have to take Tyler out in the cold. So, we watched the parade on TV and made a poster for the runners when they got home. This was Uncle Kevin's first race - good job Uncle Kevo! I managed to pretty much take zero pictures so these are all I've got to show for our Holiday and long weekend!

This picture looks incredibly sad, but I assure you the cough did not slow this kid down. He was still running around with his cousins all weekend!

A Day Off

Yesterday, Dave had to go to DC for the day. He ended up having a pretty crazy day which started at 5am. He was supposed to get Amtrak to return to Philly at 3pm, but they ended up staying at the bridge they went to check out longer than expected, then had to wait 2 hours to get a cab to the train station. He finally got home around 8pm and when he tried to start the Jeep in the train station parking lot the key wouldn't turn (happens a lot, but we're usually able to get it to turn after a few tries). So, I get a very frustrated call around 8:30 saying we have to go pick him up (Tyler was waiting up to see Dad). It's only 2 minutes away so no biggie. Tyler and I go to get him and we can't get it to work so we call AAA to get the Jeep towed.

We bring Tyler back home to put him to sleep and Uncle Ryan was tuning skis in the garage so Dave and I were able to go back and wait for the tow truck. The Jeep always has problems in the crappiest weather. It was cold and rainy last night (last problems we had were during a blizzard). Our friend Ryan told us to do this trick with hitting the key, but we had no luck. The tow truck driver finally got there and he hopped out of the truck and said to Dave "Hey, didn't I tow you during a blizzard". Yes sir, that was us...ugh. He asked Dave what was wrong and when Dave told him he said "Oh, I can fix that". He pulled out his Maglite flash light and whacked the key a few times, wiggled it a bit and Viola! she's purring like a kitten! So, there you have it. Tow truck driver saves the day again. We're putting him on speed dial. Now, every time Dave starts his car he just has to hit the key a few times with a hammer, give it a little wiggle and she starts right up - classy I know! I laid in bed this morning and heard him hitting it in the drieway :)

On to today...ahhhhhh Tyler and I had the day off. I took off with intentions to do pretty much nothing except get my gestational diabetes test done and go grocery shopping for Thanksgiving. That's a pretty calm day around here and relaxing was part of my plan. I could get use to this. I think I might be ready to retire :)

Yep, Tyler slept in this morning

I got to sit on the couch, drink coffee and watch the today show

We had our first Bieber watching. My nieces love him. They make my sister play the same song of his over and over in the car - kind of catchy I'll admit. Sometimes I sing Eeny Meeny miny mo lover for days after leaving that car. But after watching him this morning I'm just not sure about the kid. It's gotta be that the girlies think he's cute. Must be the Joey McIntyre of this generation :)

And we set up shop at Quest Diagnostics for an hour and half while I got my tests done. I went with my bag of tricks not knowing how things would go, but Tyler was an angel and entertained everyone in the waiting room. And Nemo saved the day! Here's to being thankful that our kid loves movies and will sit and watch them...it really helps sometimes!

Weekend Fun

It was a great Fall weekend. I'm pretty sure we won't get too many more so we took full advantage while it lasts!

Before the fun began, we first had to save Jessie, Woody and our dinosaur on a leash. They were being held hostage by the Lion. They were saved and are sleeping all snuggly with Tyler at the moment.

Getting ready for ski season...

Sunday morning school taught by Alex

Superman training from Aunt Jill

Waiting patiently to go outside

We played in our fort in the back yard. Catherine named it "Fort Total Awesomeness"

Getting pretty good at the rock wall...making us proud :)

Tyler desperately wants to join the big kids on the monkey bars. He's getting pretty good at hanging by himself

Swinging our time away

And apparently eating a fist too...goofy kid :)
