We've been a bit absent from this blog b/c we've had a lot happening over the past 2 weeks. It started with me spending a few days in Atlanta for work and I came home to a "not sleeping through the night anymore" baby :( Tyler has never really been sick so it took us a while to figure out that our test case had something going on and wasn't feeling well. Turns out that when he's sick he's still pretty darn happy. We ended up having to take him to urgent care last Sunday to get him checked out. He had an ear infection, a cold and an upset tummy to go along with it, which ended up giving him a nasty, nasty diaper rash. Then he added in another tooth sprouting up. We did a lot of "airing out" every night to get rid of the diaper rash and a few nights ended in a messy disaster! Next time the doctor suggests to air out I'm going to ask if we could go to his house :) It's almost gone - thank goodness! He is back on his feet and has discovered the stairs and has almost made it to the top - eek!
Dave did the triathlon last Sunday and it poured, and poured and poured some more for the entire race! He did awesome and we were really proud of him! He must have swam, ran or rode through some poison ivy, oak or sumac b/c he started breaking out in a rash and this past Friday he was at the emergency room getting steroid shots b/c it was so bad. My men are a mess!
We had great weekend though. On Saturday celebrated my friend Nichole's 30th birthday and on Sunday went to a favorite amusement park of ours and had a wonderful day with Jill and the kids and Ryan and Juli!
Now it's time to overwhelm you with pictures!

Tyler made his first homemade tie dye at school :)
I'm pretty sure he's already planning his escape
First Carousel ride - he loved it!
Finally meeting Aunt Juli and hitching a ride in the back of the antique cars. Sydney was the driver and gave us all some minor whiplash
Beep beep
And then this went down...let me recap the conversation
Jill (experienced mother of 2): "Sydney wants to take Tyler on the boats."
Beth (scared mother of 1): "Alone?! No he can't go on alone with her"
Jill: "Yes he can Beth he'll be fine she'll watch him."
Beth: "But Jill I can't even control him let alone a 3 year old he doesn't sit still" (mind you this water is like 12 inches deep and it's a kiddie ride, but I had vision of him trying to explore outside the boat. I knew Sydney would have the death grip on him b/c she always does)
Jill: "Why don't you guys go on a roller coaster I'll watch Tyler and Sydney" (I should've known)
And........they're on the boat and loving it! Phew I'm happy they had fun!
For a split second he was thinking about jumping, but I guess he decided to follow the rules and stay in the boat. I guess that's what sisters are for :)

7 Months!
Tyler turned 7 months old yesterday and it brought with it a lot of new things! His first tooth poked through this past week and on Friday he started crawling. He switches between army crawl and regular crawl depending on how fast he wants to get where he's going. It took about 30 seconds for him to figure out how to turn up the volume on our receiver and he's checking out every corner of the house! He also babbles a lot and likes to squeal. This brings on a whole new meaning to pretending you're not home when someone is selling something at your door. I'm sure the other day the people at our door knew we were inside b/c I couldn't get him to stop talking!

The Happy Camper
So we got a new tv on Sunday and Dave’s dreams have been fulfilled (yep, that’s a direct quote). He informed me that 1/2 the dream was the tv, the other 1/2 was to mount it on the wall. Of course before the delivery guys even got it in our front door he was already posting templates on our wall, measuring every inch and crack and had 2 stud finders out to immediately hunt down those studs in the wall (Dave trying to find studs and insisting that both tools were wrong is a novel on its own). Sunday came and went and the tv still sat on the floor…fast forward to Tuesday (tv still on the floor) and his OCD like behavior was driving me crazy…I knew we needed help quick b/c the house was going to blow up or at least that’s how he made it seem so we recruited the neighbor who happens to be a carpenter (and a human stud finder) to get this tv on the wall. Mission accomplished and thank goodness for our neighbor’s help because we now have one happy Dad!
Already helping Dad fix things
To end the happy campers happiness for a few minutes...our Jeep got broken in to yesterday at the train station. They broke the passenger side window and took our stereo, Garmin and a tool for checking check engine lights. We already got the window fixed and he only has 2 weeks left at that station. I'm not sure what attracted them to our hillbilly Jeep (perhaps it was the oversized tire on the roof that was screaming come look at me?), but I sure hope they enjoy our low end stereo system that didn't really get good reception anyway! :)

The scoop
After countless hours of Dave and our wonderful, wonderful friend Richard moving us in to the new house we are finally considered in (this also included some late night painting benders from the two of them!!) THANK YOU to EVERYONE for helping us! :) We've been busy unpacking and are excited to live in one place! A few of our friends came to visit last week and everyone congregated at our house before they took off for a Bachelor party weekend in the woods! It was our first night in the house and I'm sure the neighbors were thinking they had a pretty rowdy bunch move in next door. Thankfully 2 neighbors came over to hang out with us and another stopped by for a quick beer while walking his dog!
Tyler is on the move these days. He does a 1/2 scoot, 1/2 crawl to get to where he needs to go. It's really funny! The other day he was chewing on a harmonica and we have no clue where he found it...I guess it's time to start putting stuff up on higher shelves. His newest trick is clapping and he spends about 3/4 of his day doing just that! He's also in to standing and pulling himself up on things, but he likes to let go. So it's not rare these days to hear this happening...thump...silence...Tyler you're ok....back to playing. He started to say Dada we're not sure if he really has it down that Dave is Dada, but it's very cute. I swear I heard him say Mama when I walked out of the room the other day, but I'm sure it was just wishful thinking! He's keeping it real around here...I got peed on 2 times in one diaper change on Friday it's been a while so I guess I was due - he was probably just excited it was the start of the weekend :)
Getting ready to take off!
Morning photo shoot
My sister and I went to a friends wedding and had a fun night out!
Next wedding I go to I'm taking orange slices and gatorade for the bride when she does the dollar dance. I always have flashbacks and have to run to the bar to get a drink when I see a bride doing this marathon dance!
Helping a friend come to terms with his baldness...we all got to take a swipe!
Deep in thought
Helping Aunt Kris clean
Finally meeting Uncle Ryan!
Testosterone...
Dave ran in to the karate kid at the bachelor party
Construction is done - yippee!
