bye bye laser!

For those of you who haven't met Tyler yet he has a birthmark on his head called a hemangioma. It's a type of birthmark that will grow for up to year and will eventually shrink and just disappear - I had one on my lower neck and it faded over time. Doctors don't usually do much about them unless they need to because they're common and resolve themselves. It's amazing how many people see him and tell me they had one, their kid did or someone else they know had one. About a month or so ago Tyler's starting bleeding so we had to take him to a dermatologist to get it lasered. He's gone about 4 times and we went yesterday for our weekly visit and she said it's all healed!! The next step is to put a gel on it that will help it shrink so we don't have any more problems. It's not going to happen over night and may take a few months, but hopefully we'll see a difference. Although Tyler will miss flirting with his favorite nurse every week (he's quite the charmer) I'm glad the laser treatments are over! Let the shrinking begin...

Weekend fun

On Saturday and Sunday we went spent the day running around the Fine Arts Fiesta in W-B. Tyler and his cousin's Alex, Sydney and Payton had lots of fun! It was a great weekend!

Our family of four

We recently had a new addition to our family - a big raccoon! He's decided to set up shop in our chimney and from what we can tell is perfectly content with his new home and doesn't have plans of moving out any time soon. He watches us as if he knows we're plotting his removal and doesn't seemed to be phased by anything that's going on around him!

The past 9 months

I'm hoping this time I'll actually keep up with this blog and be able to keep our far away friends/family up to date on all of our happenings here! It's been almost 9 months since we returned to PA and it's pretty much impossible to recap everything that's been going on, but here's a quick look...

Rented an RV and spent the weekend at Penn State with friends. Tyler got to go to his first PSU game while in my belly...what a trip!

Squeezed in a trip to the city to see The Rachel Ray show...

Having fun in the snow on x-mas and of course Dave had to make the snowman a bit X-rated

Tried to get back in touch with my redneck ways by playing Big Buck Hunter and sluggin' a few Miller Lites...while pregnant.

The night before I went in to labor...

The dude arrived on January 14th!

Spent some time being snowed in with no power it was a cold night. That unity candle sure does come in handy!

Spent a few days in Savannah for a cousins wedding...

Dave and our friend Ryan went to Utah and got in some great powder days...

Had a baptism...

and bought a house (more pics to come)!

The first "meal"

Tyler had his first taste of food the other day (other than the occasional lick of a popsicle from Dad or cake icing from his Grandma) and he loved it! I'm thinking he'll eat anything we put in front of him. When he was done eating he decided to try and eat the bowl and then put it on his head. He actually was wearing it like a hat, but I wasn't quick enough to catch that picture.

In other news...he has definitely discovered his feet and has starting eating those too. He's rolling from his belly to back like a champ and has rolled a few times from back to belly, but is still a little confused about that one. Once he figures out how to connect all of this rolling we're in trouble he's quite the little busy body. Day care told me that he's starting to pull his bibs off and I guess it shouldn't be a surprise since he was pulling his IV's out while he was in the NICU and was only 4 hours old :)

I'm just going to have a little taste of this bowl...

There's gotta be something left in there...

Uh oh they caught me...
